David Herbert Brennan, a 23-year-old Pleasanton resident, was arrested earlier today for stabbing two men near downtown Wednesday evening, police said.
According to police, numerous witnesses identified Brennan as the suspect who stabbed two Livermore residents, ages 18 and 23, at the Shell gas station at First Street and Vineyard Avenue. One was stabbed in the chest, and the other was stabbed twice in the back. The victims' injuries were not life threatening, police said, and were transported to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley after being treated on the scene.
Sgt. Jim Knox said the stabbings were a result of a fight between six to 10 men from Pleasanton and Livermore, and police don't believe it was related to gang violence.
Police were led to find Brennan at his girlfriend's house in the 800 block of Rose Avenue. He was arrested and then booked into Santa Rita Jail on two counts of attempted homicide.
