A 16-year-old student at Village High School committed suicide Wednesday evening, according to the school district.
Lt. Darrin Davis of the Pleasanton Police Department said there are no signs of foul play.
The mother came home around 5:30 p.m. to discover what happened. Police chaplain Gary Senna was on the scene within minutes to comfort the family, according to Davis.
Davis said that there were several suicide notes found.
The Pleasanton Weekly has chosen not to identify the person.
The principal at Village High School gathered with students this week to talk about the suicide and counselors were available, according to Senior Director of Pupil Services Kevin Johnson.
Counselors are available to students at Village and also at surrounding health facilities like Axis Health and Horizons in Livermore.
