About 1,200 PG&E customers were without power for about an hour Friday afternoon in northern Pleasanton, according to the utility.
The power went out at about 1:45 p.m., according to PG&E spokesman Dave Eisenhower, and was restored at 2:51 p.m.
The affected areas included near the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station, Oracle and Shaklee.
Eisenhower said the outage was the result of a failed switch in an underground utility area.

What a flat-out lie! I work in one of the buildings across the street from BART that was affected. I stuck around until 4:00pm after 99% of the building cleared out. Power WAS NOT RESTORED when I went home at 4:00!! I don't know when it came back on but I intend to find out from the building manager tomorrow.
It appears that PG&E thinks it is okay lie to the public about how efficient they are. What a surprise. PG&E knows that no one was around when power was restored.

9:20 pm, folks. That's when power was restored. 9:20 pm. THE POWER WAS OUT FOR ALMOST EIGHT HOURS! It gets worse. Take a look at when the article was uploaded: Friday, August 10, 2007, at 2:38 pm. The article states that power was restored at 2:51 pm. Someone's crystal ball was off by six and a half hours.
