Thousands turned out for the second in a series of 2007 First Wednesday street parties last night, a summer-fun event sponsored by the Pleasanton Downtown Association.

Main Street was jammed as families and friends spent the evening downtown, enjoying stops at the nearly 200 booths lining the street as well as dining the many food booths and at outdoor restaurants and then taking a tour of the Museum On Main.

Public agencies, including Zone 7 and the city of Pleasanton, and sister-city organizations distributed information about their organizations and services. Two elected officials also had booths: Mayor Jennifer Hosterman and Councilman Matt Sullivan. Constituents had a chance to stop and talk about local issues affecting the city.

Because the next first Wednesday is July 4, Independence Day, the PDA will skip July and hold its next First Wednesday event Aug. 1.
