The University of Phoenix, which has a Pleasanton location, recently named Travis Allen as campus director for its eight learning centers in the Bay Area which include its center on Stoneridge Drive. Allen is responsible for all campus operations and has oversight over a team of directors who are responsible for new enrollment, academic affairs, student services and financial services. Promoting the university's growth in the region through expanding enrollment and degree programs are also key aspects of the position.

Allen came to the Bay Area from Virginia where he was campus director of the University of Phoenix's Richmond campus. He joined the University in 1998 as a financial advisor and later enrolled, earning his MBA from the University in 2003. University of Phoenix is a private institution that provides higher education for working adult students, providing many online and evening courses.
