Pleasanton Reads
Adult volunteers are needed for Pleasanton Library's literacy program, "Pleasanton Reads." Training is held from 7-8:30 p.m., Mon., Jan. 30, and from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Sat., Feb. 4 at the Pleasanton Library, 400 Old Bernal Ave. Call 931-3411.

Shepherd's Gate Thrift Stores

Tri-Valley Animal Rescue

Tri-Valley Haven
Tri-Valley Haven, a service to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and homelessness, needs volunteers to answer the crisis line, respond to sexual assault calls at the hospital and police stations and assist clients with restraining orders. The three moth training begins Feb. 2006 every Tues. at 6:30 p.m. Must be at least 21 years of age to participate. Call 449-5845, ext. 11.
ValleyCare Auxiliary
