Raymond P. Springmeyer

Raymond P. Springmeyer died Jan. 5 at the age of 57.

He was a native of the Fort Lee and Bergenfield, N.J. area and lived in Pleasanton for a few years before making his home in Lathrop, Calif. for the past 25 years. He spent 23 years in the U.S. Navy, achieving the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer, and served during in the Vietnam War. He later worked as a truck driver, working for several companies, including his final employer Quality Carriers/Winsome Enterprises.

He is remembered for his great sense of humor and infectious laugh. He had a strong sense of family and was the conduit between the bi-coastal components of his family. He enjoyed spreading good news of family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Emma; daughters Michelle of Pleasanton and Claudette of Stockton; brother Robert Springmeyer of Thornton; mother Amelia Springmeyer of Pleasanton; and two grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father Raymond W. Springmeyer.

Visitation services were held at Graham-Hitch Mortuary followed with burial in the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
