Be careful while doing holiday shopping

Recently purchased packages and two sets of golf clubs with a total value of $2,865 were stolen out of the trunk of a car in the Stoneridge Mall parking lot Dec. 1 sometime between 7:30 and 9 p.m., police said. The victim left the mall at 7:30 p.m. to put packages in the trunk of her car parked in the upper East parking lot of Nordstrom and then went back inside to do more shopping. The victim said she was rushed because it was raining hard that evening, but she was sure she had locked her trunk. When she left the mall at 9 p.m., the victim said she did not notice anything strange, but when she returned home and opened her trunk she found the items missing. There were no signs of forced entry and the inside of the trunk was very wet, police said.
