Christine Marie Hughes and Matthew Frederick Thompson

Christine Hughes and Matthew Thompson were married Oct. 14 at St. Raymond Catholic Church in Dublin. A candlelight reception followed at the Palm Event Center in the Mitchell Katz Winery in Pleasanton.

Christine is the daughter of Ernest L. Hughes, Jr. of Pleasanton. She attended St. Raymond Catholic School for elementary and middle school and graduated from Foothill High School in 1996. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2000 with a degree in political science. She is currently working toward her masters in education at the University of Phoenix while working as an account manager for TUV Rhineland of North America in Pleasanton.

Matthew is the son of Victoria and Ronald Thompson of Granite Bay, Calif. He graduated from Oakmont High School in 1996, where he was valedictorian. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2000 with degrees in computer science and engineering. While at the University of Notre Dame, he was on the track and field team, breaking a school record in the 35 pound hammer throw. He is a mobile microprocessor supply manager for Intel Corporation in Santa Clara.

The couple honeymooned in Maui and resides in downtown Pleasanton.
