(November 18, 2005) Helen Jacintho
Helen Jacintho died Oct. 29 at the age of 81.
She was born May 18, 1924 in Hawaii. She was a homemaker for 70 years and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She enjoyed Bingo, Hawaiian music, the hula and caring for her houseplants.
She is survived by her husband Seraphine Jacintho of Pleasanton; son Gerald Jacinth of Las Vegas, Nev.; brother Louis DeCoite of Maui; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service was held at St. Augustine's Cemetery.
Lucille Lillian Sorensen
Lucille Lillian Sorensen died Oct. 30 at the age of 84.
She was born Oct. 7, 1921 in San Francisco and lived in El Sobrante for 35 years before moving to Pleasanton where she lived for one year. She worked for PG&E in Berkeley before retiring and being a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Vista Cerrito Chapter in El Cerrito.
She is survived by her daughters Lynda Davis of Pleasanton and Janet Gustafson of Hercules; brother Ken Moyle of Grover Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Dec. 10 at the El Cerrito Masonic Center, 6922 Stockton Ave., El Cerrito. Donations may be made to California Order of the Eastern Star, Campbell-Dillon Scholarship Fund.
Opal Fields
Opal Fields, 87, died Oct. 31.
She was born May 26, 1918 in Fort Worth, Texas. She lived in San Leandro for 40 years before moving to Pleasanton where she lived for 11 years. She was a homemaker for 28 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and volunteered at Hope Hospice. She drove a bus transporting troops to and from Camp Parks and drove delegates to the UN in San Francisco.
She loved baseball and was an avid Oakland A's fan. She also enjoyed playing card games, especially Pinochle and Uno, and played Bingo every Friday. She attended all of her grandchildren's events.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia Halliday of Pleasanton; sisters Myrtle Zupon of Clearlake, Calif. and Katherine Bartee of Novato; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Norman Fields.
A funeral service was held at Trinity Lutheran Church followed by a private burial at Chapel for the Chimes in Hayward. Donations may be made to Hope Hospice, 6500 Dublin Blvd., Suite 100, Dublin 94568.
Finlay Boag
Finlay Boag died Nov. 2 at the age of 73.
He was born Feb. 20, 1932 in Scotland and lived there for many years before moving to San Ramon where he resided for 31 years. He attended Blairhall School and was a professional soccer player for the Hibernians in Edinburgh, Scotland. He late coached soccer in Dublin for 20 years. He worked for PG&E for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Boag of San Ramon; son Finlay Boag of Pleasanton; daughters Lorna Noecker of Livermore and Kerry Boag of San Ramon; brother Ian Harley of Scotland; sister Helen Harley of Scotland; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at Graham-Hitch Mortuary. Donations may be made to Hope Hospice, 6500 Dublin Blvd., Suite. 100, Dublin 94568.
