(November 11, 2005) Harriet Erickson
Harriet Erickson, 80, died in her home Oct. 7.
She was born Nov. 12, 1924 in Mineola, N.Y. She graduated from Cornell University and taught high school home economics at Whitman Hanson Regional High School in Whitman, Mass. from 1969-1987. She later moved to Chapel Hill, N.C. where she had many friends and relatives. She enjoyed attending the symphony, University of North Carolina women's basketball games, her book club, going to the movies with her friends and making sock monkeys for the UNC Children's hospital. She was an outstanding duplicate bridge player.
She is survived by daughters Sally Haig and her husband Rance of Pleasanton, Jill Erickson and her partner Matt Person of Falmouth, Mass.; son David Erickson and his wife Lucy Tirk of Asheville, N.C.; sisters Mildred Hammond of Chapel Hill, N.C. and Florence Banta of New York; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Erickson.
A funeral service was held at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Family in Chapel Hill, N.C. Donations may be made to the Church of the Holy Family or the charity of your choice.
Alfred Gallegus
Alfred Gallegus died Oct. 14 after a battle with Alzheimer's disease at the age of 69.
He was born March 1, 1936 in Oakland and had 15 siblings. He grew up in Hayward before moving to Tustin, Cal. where he lived for 32 years. He graduated from Hayward High School and later worked with Caltrans for 41 years. He was the third longest employed person with Caltrans in the state of California. He enjoyed golf, skiing and dancing.
He is survived by his daughters Carye McGrath and Leslie Milano of Pleasanton and Terry Eberhart of Tustin, Cal.; brother Henry Gallegus of Grass Valley, Cal., Jess Gallegus of Fremont and Raymond Gallegus of Hayward; sisters Angie Lopez of Fremont, Shirley Martinez and Josie Quintel of Hayward, Esther Bird of Nevada, Connie Slife of LaHabra, Cal., Marylou Mack and Annie Jones of Castro Valley; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at Graham-Hitch Mortuary. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Northern California Chapter, 2005 West El Camino Real, Suite C, Mountain View 94949.
Charles Edwin Utvick
Charles Edwin Utvick died Oct. 16 at the age of 52.
He was born June 5, 1953 in California. He was a deputy sheriff for Alameda County for 30 years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Pleasanton. He had a love of aviation.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Nickie Diane Utvick; daughters Victoria and Megan Utvick; and son Thomas Utvick, all from Tracy.
A memorial was held in the chapel of the Callaghan Mortuary.

Pramathesh Kumar Dalal, a Pleasanton resident for 23 years, died Oct. 19 at the age of 69.
He was born Feb. 16, 1936 in India where he was raised. He delighted in simple pleasures like a good cup of tea. He designed the home he lived in with his wife, paying close attention to every detail, which he gave to everything he did. He loved politics and computer programming.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Pushpa Dalal.
A memorial was held at Callaghan Mortuary. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the family requests doing a good deed in his memory.
Martin Koberle
Martin Koberle, 41, died Oct. 17.
He was born in March 20, 1964 in Hayward. He graduated from Amador Valley High School in 1982 and later lived and worked in San Francisco. He donated a lot of his time to the San Francisco SPCA and PAWS, as well as supported many animal organizations. He will be remembered for his big heart and will be dearly missed. Richard L. May, 55, died Oct. 23 from a heart attack while on vacation in Yuma, Ariz.
He was born May 11, 1950 and grew up in Livermore where he graduated from Granada High School in 1968. He later moved to Hawaii where he lived for many years and moved back to the Bay Area 15 years ago, buying a small horse ranch in Brentwood where he made his residence. He is remembered for his love of horses, ranching and spending time with his family. His prize possessions were his saddle, tack and sheep dog, Paul.
He survived by his sons Michael May of Portland, Ore., David Hilliard of Livermore, Chris May of Frankfort, Ill. and Robin May of Lodi; mother Mable May of Pleasanton; sisters Janet Seilheimer and Debbie Henson of Pleasanton and Sally Brown of Sisters, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his father Charles May of Livermore.

Helen L. Barry-Myers
Helen Barry-Myers, a Pleasanton resident for 36 years, died this month.
She was a native of New York City and later in life raised her family in Pleasanton. She was a homemaker and will be remembered for her patience and selflessness and as a great listener.
She is survived by her sons Frenesi and Kenise Myers of Pleasanton, William Myers of Arvada, Colo., Robert Myers of New York City, Richard Myers of Concord, David Myers of Modesto; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Myers.
