There's something for everyone in this year's contests at the Alameda County Fair. Does everyone say your ribs are the best? Sign up for the amateur Rib Cookoff by June 17. Qualifying contests take place June 25, 26, 28, 29 and 30, with the finals on July 2. If you win, you're off to Los Cabos.

Like to sing? Qualify for the Karaoke Contest from June 24 through July 8. Finals will be July 9. The winner will go to Hawaii.

If you enjoy photography, take a few photos at the fair. Then, submit them to the Fair Administration Office and be entered for a chance to win $250. E-mail, mail or hand-deliver your photo to the Fair Administration Office, along with your name, address and phone number. Be sure to read the disclaimer on-line at www.AlamedaCountyFair.com.

Proud of your putting prowess? From June 29 to July 4 and from July 6 to 8, qualify for the chance to putt for a $10,000 prize on July 9 during live horse racing at the Fair. To sign up for the contest, visit the "Win Place Show" booth prior to the sixth race each day. Your name will be entered for a chance to participate in that day's qualifying round.
