(June 10, 2005) Waiting list vacancy at Pleasanton Gardens
Seniors age 62 and older who meet income requirements, $46,000 per year or less in Alameda County, have a rare opportunity to apply for affordable housing at Pleasanton Gardens, 251 Kottinger Drive.
Between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. today and tomorrow, qualified residents can enter a lottery for a drawing July 28 which will add 50 names to the waiting list. The list has been closed to new applicants since the fall of 2000.
Pleasanton Gardens operates under the Department of Housing and Urban Development guidelines. For more information, call (925) 846-3050.
History of the Valley Wine Industry
A lecture by local historian Gary Drummond will be presented at 7 p.m., June 16 at the Museum on Main Street, 603 Main Street, Pleasanton. Reservations are requested. Free Shakespeare in the Park begins June 25
The San Francisco Shakespeare Festival opens this season's Free Shakespeare in the Park on Saturday, June 25, 2005 with "Much Ado About Nothing". The city-sponsored performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through July 10 at Amador Valley Community Park, 4301 Black Avenue in Pleasanton. Admission is free. Blankets, low lawn chairs and picnic suppers are welcome. Call Pleasanton Civic Arts at 931-5361 for information.
