Weekly names new President
(April 01, 2005) Deborah Mckeehan to assume post
Deborah Acosta McKeehan, former City Manager of Pleasanton, has been named as the new President of the Pleasanton Weekly, effective April 11.
McKeehan served as City Manager for the past 14 years and retired from that position this past November. She served three different mayors and many different council members during her tenure, while remaining fiercely apolitical.
"Her political independence and intimate familiarity with Pleasanton made her the ideal candidate for this job," said out-going President Bob Thomas. "Deborah will work closely with Publisher/Editor Jeb Bing to continue the primary mission of the Weekly, to provide fair and unbiased coverage of the issues, events and people of Pleasanton."
McKeehan lives in Pleasanton with her husband Jim and their two daughters.
After a short transition period, Thomas will return to the position of Vice President of Corporate Development for Embarcadero Publishing, the parent company of the Pleasanton Weekly.
