Irene Edna Bennington

Irene Edna Bennington, 76, died March 11.

She was a native of Sydney, Australia, and spent many years living in California, first in Stockton and spending her last years in Pleasanton.

She is survived by her daughter Norah Bennington of Stockton; sisters Iris Burns, Norah Stevens and Daphne Heavener; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews in Australia.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Douglas Bennington, and son, Wayne Bennington.

Funeral services were at Graham-Hitch Mortuary and a private burial was held at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, Calif. Donations may be made to Sutter Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice, 4600 S. Gladys Lurene Marks, 98, died in Pleasanton on Feb. 26.

She was born in San Francisco on Jan. 22, 1907, where she lived for 90 years. She spent her last years in Pleasanton.

She was a homemaker for 70 years and a member of the Pleasanton V.I.P. Senior Club and Pleasanton Senior Support. She enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by daughter Sharon O'Connor; son-in-law James C. O'Connor; nephew Roy De Martini; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Howard Marks; sister Dorothy DeMartini; brother Morgan Drew; parents Morgan Drew and Margaret Lightfoot; and grandchild, James H. O'Connor.

A memorial service was held at Graham-Hitch Mortuary followed by a burial service at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Colma. Donations can be made to Hope Hospice, 6500 Dublin Blvd., Suite 100, Dublin 94568. Ruth Marie Crouch

Ruth Marie Crouch, 84, died in Pleasanton on Feb. 25.

She was born Aug. 23, 1920, in Pennsylvania and spent her last years in Pleasanton. She was a member of P.E.O., a women's society club, and enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint and cooking old-home favorites for her family.

She is survived by daughters Jessica Jordan of Danville and Patricia Spisock of Johnstown, Pa.; sons-in-law Jim and Rich; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Crouch. A memorial service was celebrated last Friday at United Methodist Church in Alamo with burial in Johnstown, Pa. Eileen K. McCaslin

Eileen K. McCaslin, a Pleasanton resident for 40 years, died Feb. 28 at the age of 76.

She was born in Concord on Feb. 12, 1929. She earned a bachelor's degree in music from St. Mary's College and was an antique dealer. She enjoyed music and was a member of Valley Community Church.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Howard; daughters Marcy and Mindy; sons Mark and Marty; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service was celebrated at Valley Community Church. Donations can be made to Recovery Quest Inc., P.O. Box 5217, Pleasanton 94566. Pearl Frances Stonebridge

Pearl Frances Stonebridge, 85, died last week.

She was born Sept. 28, 1919, in Redwood, Minn., and lived in the Bay Area for 60 years. She was the 10th child of 12 siblings. She is remembered for her kind heart and selfless giving.

She is survived by one son, Ronald Stonebridge of Pleasanton, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her Life was celebrated at St. Raymond's Catholic Church in Menlo Park.
