Seahawks excel at Alameda Seahawks excel at Alameda (March 04, 2005)

The Pleasanton Seahawks converged on Alameda Island last Saturday to tally some pretty impressive results in the Alameda C/B/A+ meet. Melissa Bonnell, 14, was on fire with a first-place win and new Far Western time of 5:24.38 in the 500 Free, first place and a new Far Western time in the 200 Fly (2:19.79), and finally, came in first with a new A time in the 100 Back (1:07.03).

Rachel Knowles, 8, took first, second, or third in all eight of her events: first place in the 50 Fly (49.49), first place and a new A time in the 50 Back (49.93), second place in the 100 Free (1:28.23), 25 Back (22.63), 25 Free (17.50), 25 Fly (19.83), and 50 Free (39.23). Rachel also took third place in the 100 IM with a 3-second improvement (1:45.00).

West Coast Olympic Gymnastics Academy of Pleasanton results in the Spirit of the Flame event in San Jose over the weekend were:

Level 7; ages 9-11; finished in third place Vault: Christina Lee - 6th place (9.0); Emma Kettering and Melanie Pacheco (8.65) Bars: Christina Lee - 8th place (8.15); Emma Kettering (7.3) Bean: Christina Lee - 8th place (8.425); Emma Kettering - 10th place (8.15) Floor: Emma Kettering - 8th (8.925); Christina Lee - 10th place (8.675) All around: Christina Lee - 9th place (34.25); Emma Kettering (33.025)

Level 8, ages 14-15, finished in third place Vault: Allison Dillon - 7th place (8.7) Bars: Allison Dillon - 6th place (9.0) Bean: Allison Dillon (8.05) Floor: Allison Dillon (8.75) All-around: Allison Dillon - 9th place (34.5)
