Home theft targets jewels

An unknown suspect took $5,830 worth of jewelry and cash from a home on the 4100 block of Stanley Blvd. while the owner as at work last week.

The victim reported that she left for work at 9 a.m. the morning of Feb. 24, and upon returning home at approximately 10 p.m., she noticed the front door was open slightly. The victim told police she saw several toolboxes on the floor of her room that were not there when she left in the morning. She also stated that several drawers were open and items were moved out of place, police said.

The police report states that the jewelry box was opened and moved from the bathroom counter to the floor and several pieces of jewelry were missing.
