(February 25, 2005) Lourdes C. DeSouza
Lourdes C. DeSouza, 91, died in Pleasanton on Feb. 12.
He was born in Goa, India, in 1913 and lived in Pleasanton for the last 18 years. He had a bachelor's degree and worked in Customs.
He enjoyed reading and music and was a sports fan.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Maria; his son Luiz; daughters Anna, Teresa, Christine and Andrea; sister Helen; daughter-in-law Cheryl; sons-in-law Girish, Jude and Robert; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Augustine's Catholic Church and burial is at St. Augustine's Cemetery.
Henry John Hatton
Henry John Hatton, a Pleasanton resident for 32 years, died Feb. 13 at the age of 74.
He was born in Calexico on Oct. 30, 1930. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics at UCLA and was president of his fraternity, Theta Delta Chi. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Army, and he worked as sales manager at Johns-Manville. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club and SIRS.
He enjoyed following football, especially UCLA vs. USC, as well as baseball, camping, fishing and working in his vegetable garden. He was an avid reader and loved politics.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Elizabeth Marie Hatton; son James Henry Hatton; daughter Lisa Marie Hatton; brothers Michael and David Hatton; stepmother Mary Hatton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated last Saturday and burial is at Holy Cross in Colma. Donations may be made to Hope Hospice, 6500 Dublin Blvd., Suite 100, Dublin 94568.
