(February 25, 2005) Haul made from Grand Prix
A Pleasanton resident in the 6400 block of Stoneridge Mall Road had possessions valued at $5,525 stolen from her car overnight the evening of Feb. 15.
Police said the victim parked and locked her 1998 red Pontiac Grand Prix in the southeast corner of her complex in an open parking stall at about 8 p.m. the evening of Feb. 15. She told police when she returned to her car at approximately 7:15 a.m. the next morning, she found the passenger front window had been smashed in, and the doors were still locked.
The police report states that a shoulder bag was taken containing jewelry, a day planner, and makeup valued at $5,525, and damage to the vehicle was estimated at $150.
The victim and other residents did not report hearing anything suspicious. There are no suspects at this time.
High voltage crime
An unknown suspect took two reels of high voltage cable valued at $4,250 from a storage yard near the intersection of Vineyard Avenue and Old Vineyard Avenue.
The victim reported that he last saw the reels of high voltage cable in the unsecured yard at 11 a.m. the morning of Feb. 11, police said. When he returned to the yard at 7:30 a.m. Feb. 14 he discovered that the two reels, weighing approximately 500 pounds each, were missing.
The victim told police he found a pair of gloves on one of the reels, which did not belong to the construction workers. The police report states that the gloves were booked into evidence.
