Blanche 'Bianca' Pooley

Blanche 'Bianca' Pooley died Feb. 4 at the age of 91.

She was born in Quebec, and lived in Pleasanton from 1980 to 1996, when she retired in Encinitas, Calif. Her hobbies were cooking, sewing, growing beautiful roses and reading. Her children and grandson will be planting the Fair Bianca rose in their gardens in her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her three sisters.

She is survived by her daughter Danielle DeMeyer of Pleasanton; her son Robert Pooley of San Diego; and her grandson Christopher of San Luis Obispo.

Private services were held.

Pleasanton resident Jeffrey L. Capito, 53, died at Kaiser Medical Center in Walnut Creek on Feb. 5.

He was born in California and raised in Fremont, and moved to Pleasanton 20 years ago.

His passion was tennis, and he was a member of the U.S. Tennis Association. He also enjoyed camping and fixing up his home with his wife Harriet.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Harriet Capito of Pleasanton; his daughter Danielle Capito of Pleasanton; his mother Mavis Capito of Hayward; his sisters Cheryl Stacey of Castro Valley and Teri Capito of San Leandro; his brother Gary Capito of San Ramon; his brother-in-law Harold Warner of Clovis; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at Callaghan's Chapel in Livermore.

Patricia Abbott, 79, died Feb. 7 at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley.

She was born in Oakland on March 2, 1925. She lived in Pleasanton for the past 28 years, after being in San Lorenzo for 30 years. She attended two years of college where she studied liberal arts. She was employed for awhile with Western Pacific Railroad.

She was a homemaker, and enjoyed gardening, traveling and reading. She was also affiliated with various charitable organizations.

She is survived by her spouse of 55 years, William "Bill" Abbott of Pleasanton; daughter Linda Abbott of South Carolina; and two grandchildren, Eric and Matthew. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hazel Connelly, formerly of Oakland and Castro Valley, and her brother Jim.

Private services were held.
