Gym theft nets goods worth $20,330

A sports club patron had possessions valued at $20,330 stolen from his locker while he worked out Feb. 9, in the late afternoon.

The victim told police that he arrived at ClubSport Pleasanton at 4 p.m. and selected a locker in the men's locker room. The victim said he remembered shutting the locker and removing the key.

The victim said he returned to his locker at 5:45 p.m. and noticed the locker ajar, according to police. He reported that a wallet, pants, car keys, gold Rolex, $300 cash and credit cards were missing. He noted that his watch could be identified by an engraving on the back "CMH to MFH 10-26-95," said police.

The police report stated that there was a small pry mark on the locker door, possibly from a screw driver. The report includes a comment by ClubSport management that the lockers are easily defeated by using a small pry tool.

The police report stated that no witnesses were located and there are no security cameras near the locker room. Thief 'collects' coin collection

An unknown suspect took a coin collection valued at $550 from a Pleasanton home on Hartley Gate Court while the victim was at work Feb 9.

The victim stated that he left for work about 11:30 a.m. that morning, according to the police report. The victim said when he returned at 9:20 p.m., he noticed drawers and cabinets opened. The victim said there were some drawers lying on the bed and the items had been dumped out onto his bed. He said he then called the police.

The police officers' report stated that they did not see signs of forced entry, and the bedroom window was open. The victim said he wasn't sure he locked the window, according to the report. The report stated that they dusted for prints.

The victim reported that U.S. coins, 2 Roman coins, several 1923 pennies, and an expired drivers license were missing. Other credit cards, stereo equipment and valuables were not taken.
