Mary Sanchez

Pleasanton native and lifelong resident Mary Sanchez died Dec. 29 at ValleyCare Medical Center. She was 84.

Born Sept. 15, 1920, to Moses and Angela Campagna, she attended Pleasanton Elementary School, Amador Valley High and San Jose State College. In 1944, she married her high school sweetheart, Anthony Sanchez.

For 35 years, she was a typist for Epoxy Coating Co. A devoted wife and homemaker, she touched many people in her life with her compassion and generosity.

Among her hobbies, she enjoyed bowling and reading, and she loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters.

She leaves two children, Fairlands Elementary school teacher Anita Sanchez and Pleasanton dentist Jerry Sanchez and his wife Kim, all of Pleasanton; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Sarah; her sister, Constance Lewis; her good friend, Ferne Harris; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991 and by a sister and brother, Victoria Aneselmo and Virgil Campagna.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 16, at Graham-Hitch Mortuary, 4167 First St.

Jennie Dolce, 87, died Dec. 14.

The Trinidad, Colo., native was born June 13, 1917, and lived in Oakland for 18 years and in Pleasanton for 31 years. She was a homemaker.

She leaves her husband of 59 years, Domonick Dolce; two sons, Lee Dolce of Lincoln and John Dolce of San Ramon; and two grandchildren, Nicole Dolce and LeAnne Dolce.

A funeral service was held at Graham-Hitch Mortuary and she was buried at St. Augustine's Cemetery. Frank P. Peters

Pleasanton native Frank P. Peters died Dec. 13 at his home in Murphys. He was 89.

Born June 7, 1915, he was a descendant of the Bernal family, pioneers in Pleasanton. He lived in Pleasanton for 60 years and in Murphys for 30 years.

He worked as an Alameda County deputy sheriff and was a San Francisco city and county watershed ranger.

He was a member of St. Patrick's in Murphys and Angels Camp, the Native Sons, the Farm Bureau, the Alameda County Deputy Sheriffs and the Cattlemen's Association.

He leaves two sisters, Alyce Corby of Pleasanton and Gloria Zweers of Livermore, and many grand-nieces, -nephews and great-grand-nieces and -nephews.

His wife of 50 years, Eldora Peters, preceded him in death July 15, 1996, in Stockton.

A Mass celebrating his life was held at St. Augustine Catholic Church and he was buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward. A memorial Mass was also held at St. Patrick's Church in Angels Camp.
