Citizens' Police Academy taking signups
(January 14, 2005) Enrollment for the spring class of the Citizens' Police Academy is under way at the Pleasanton Police Department. The 14-week class meets from 6:30-9:30 p.m. every Thursday beginning March 3 and concluding June 9 at 4833 Bernal Ave. It will not meet March 31, during the school district spring break.
The class, open to adults who live or work in Pleasanton, covers policing in Pleasanton, from traffic enforcement, SWAT, narcotics and K-9s to use-of-force issues, DARE, Community Policing and crime prevention.
All applicants are screened and must undergo a background investigation and be approved by the police chief.
