Obituaries

Ruth Frances Phinney, 92, died Oct. 9.

An Oakland native, she was born on Sept. 5, 1912. She was a caregiver and loved to spend time with her family.

She also enjoyed sports and watching her favorite daytime soap opera programs.

She leaves her children and their spouses, Sandra Tielemans, the late Michael Tielemans, Dee McGrath, Denis McGrath, Jackie Gutierrez and Tony Gutierrez; five grandchildren, Stacey Boles, Julie Gibaut, Kimberly Hicks, Greg Gutierrez and Jill Wolfe; two great-grandchildren; a brother- and sister-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Her husband of 64 years, Richard Phinney, preceded her in death.

A Mass celebrating her life was held at St. Raymond Catholic Church in Dublin and she was buried at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Hayward.
