Restaurant robbery

An unknown man claiming to have a handgun robbed a restaurant Sunday night and escaped with what police said was a "small amount of cash."

Police reported that the suspect was seen pacing around the Pleasant Asian Cuisine restaurant before entering the building about 9:24 p.m. Talking to a clerk, the suspect said, "Remain calm. I have a gun in my pocket."

Police said the suspect partially revealed in his pocket what the clerk believed to be a gun handle.

Grabbing the cash, the suspect fled from the restaurant and was last seen running north, police said.

Police described the robber was a white male in his 50s with gray hair and mustache. Thinly built, he was about 6 feet tall and weighed about 150 pounds. He was wearing a dark button-down shirt, light beige pants and sunglasses.

Anyone with information about this armed robbery, case no. 04-6355, should call the Police Department, 931-5100. Waiting to be claimed
