Playhouse presents old favorite for lots of laughs

Pleasanton Playhouse has one more weekend presenting that beloved comedy, "The Odd Couple." It's the story of Oscar Madison, played by John Tiedemann, a recently separated sports writer who lives in a filthy apartment on New York's Riverside Drive. When his friend Felix Unger, portrayed by Ben Ortega, also finds himself single, the two move in together.

The laughs come fast and furious as Neil Simon tells the tale of the two greatly mismatched men trying to live under one roof. The cast also includes Renee Mahdavi, Jill Gehrke, Mark Jordan, Alan Wiltse, Randall Marquez and Eric Wood. Meredith Weiss Friedman is the director.

This weekend's performances are 8 p.m. tonight and Saturday, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 26 and 27, at the Studio Theatre, 1058 Serpentine Lane. Tickets are adults, $20; seniors over 60, $18; juniors under 18, $18. Call 462-2121. -Dolores Fox Ciardelli
