PUSD names public information officer PUSD names public information officer (June 25, 2004)

by Teresa C. Brown

Myla Grasso has been named public information officer for the Pleasanton Unified School District. She replaces Jerri Long, who retired this week after 34 years of service with the district.

The school board trustees approved Grasso's appointment at their regular meeting Tuesday.

A 10-year PUSD employee, Grasso was a network computer technician in the Technology Services department prior to being named information officer. She had also worked as a school aide at Lydiksen Elementary School.

Grasso has a bachelor's degree in electrical and computer engineering from UC Davis. She is a longtime Pleasanton resident and is active in community service, serving as the grant committee chairwoman, board secretary and vice president of Pleasanton Partnerships in Education Foundation.

She is also the host and producer of "By-Line," a community television program for the American Association of University Women.
