(June 11, 2004) Marie Leona Cintrone
Pleasanton native Marie Leona Cintrone died May 28. She was 85.
Born to Lulu Bernal and Alex Higuera on Oct. 24, 1918, she was a fourth-generation Pleasantonian and sixth-generation Californian. Pleasanton was her home for 83 years; the last two years, she made her home with her son in Hayward.
A housewife and mother, she was active at the Dublin Senior Center, and she enjoyed gardening and traveling.
She leaves her children and their spouses, Ed and Dana Cintrone of Hayward, and Diane and Jeff Mathis of Houston; two sisters, Isabel Mederios of Pleasanton and Mathilda Medeiros of Salida, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her husband of 56 years, Hank Cintrone, and two brothers preceded her in death.
Burial was held at St. Augustine's Cemetery.

Robert La Fountaine
Robert David La Fountaine, a 15-year Pleasanton resident, died May 17 at his home. He was 67.
Born in Salem, Ore., on May 6, 1937, he was a truck driver for 30 years and was a teamster. He was also a Jehovah's Witness.
He leaves his wife of 28 years, Kathy La Fountaine; four sons, David La Fountaine of Spokane, Wash., Steven La Fountaine of Livermore, Robert La Fountaine of Azusa, Calif., and Joseph La Fountaine of Warm Springs, Ark.; his mother, LaVerne Dill of Prescott, Ariz.; one brother; and six grandchildren.
No services were held.
