(May 07, 2004) Councilwoman Jennifer Hosterman launched her campaign for mayor at a reception held by Hosterman's campaign team at the Rose Hotel. In her remarks to supporters, Hosterman pledged to continue the course set by Mayor Tom Pico to steadily improve the quality of life of Pleasanton residents and to make the city an ever-better place to live in the years ahead.
"The fact is that we live in a lovely city, we have a number of amenities and we are fiscally sound, which we can thank Mayor Pico for as well as the staff that has worked so hard and diligently over the years to ensure," she said.
As mayor, Hosterman said she would focus on growth issues, workforce and affordable housing, and concerns over the proposed expansion of the Livermore Airport.
Hosterman will run against Councilwoman Kay Ayala, who is expected to make a formal announcement
