New selection: 'Little Children'

The CTV Bookclub pick for May is "Little Children" by Tom Perrotta, a satirical novel about life in suburbia populated by playgroups led by Supermoms in Spandex and overburdened adults who fear they have fallen "in line like obedient little children, doing exactly what society expected of them at any given moment, all the while pretending that they'd actually made some sort of choice." Throughout May, the Book Club will be airing its discussion of Dr. Laura Schlessinger's provocative new book, "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands." The show also features a discussion with Pleasanton author, Jean Shields, about her novel, "Air Burial."

The show airs on at 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; and at 10:30 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays on Channel 30.

Send your comments about "Little Children," or suggestions for future Book Club selections to CTVBookclub@yahoo.com or mail them to Book Club, CTV30, 4663 Bernal Ave., Suite B, Pleasanton 94566.
