What store would you like to see downtown? Asked on Main Street near Angela

I'd like to see a shoe store or more clothing stores, something a little more eclectic, like some you see in Los Gatos. Places that don't carry all the merchandise others do. And I still think it would be cool to have an independent film movie theater.

I was bummed to see that Kolln Hardware is closing. I'd like to see that reopen.

I hope chain stores don't come in. I love stores like 350 Main that are one of a kind, smaller, unique. That's what brings people to Pleasanton. Western wear and Kolln's anchored downtown for a long time.

Most of them are already here. I wouldn't want to see a Wal-Mart. I don't want to see any chains come in. I'd like to see small stores come in.

I really hope they maintain the integrity of the Kolln Hardware building. I've lived here since 1967 and my son, who is now 45, used to work for Mr. Kolln when he was 15. We need stores that will draw people.
