Ads too provocative

Editor,

I've been a fan of Pleasanton Weekly since your first edition. You've been very informative, rational on local issues, and family friendly.

Until now...

In the past few months you've run ads from a local lingerie boutique and they've varied from somewhat acceptable to totally unacceptable for a local, family-oriented newspaper like yours.

I have nothing against lingerie and nothing against advertisements for lingerie boutiques. The problem I have is when these advertisements display literally half-naked women in provocative poses. The ad that ran in your March 26 edition was particularly over the line.

I have three boys, ages 4-11, and they already receive enough exposure to this type of advertising without adding your publication to the list.

Please refine your advertising guidelines so I can once again feel comfortable handing your newspaper to my kids, sight unseen. Dave NielsenThistledown Court
