Jeffrey S. Duarte, 21, has been promoted to the rank of sergeant by the U.S. Marine Corps. Jeff is the son of Michael and Elizabeth Duarte of Pleasanton and is a 2000 graduate of Foothill High School. Jeff is currently serving with the 2nd Battalion/1st Marine Division in Iraq.
