Waiting list for seniors

The Pleasanton Housing Authority is accepting applications for the Kottinger Place waiting list for two weeks, starting Monday, April 12. Applicants must be 62 years or older, independent and meet the "very low income" standards.

Apply at 240 Kottinger Drive, from 2-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. The final date to submit a completed application is Monday, April 26. For more information, call 846-0133. Tea time

Spencer Christian, ABC Channel 7 news weather forecaster, will speak at the Mad Hatter's Tea Party on Saturday, May 8, given by Assistance League of Amador Valley. The ninth annual tea party begins at noon at the Shrine Event Center, 170 Lindbergh Ave., Livermore, with a viewing of 50 elegant tea tables set by members with their personal china. Christian, a world traveler, Emmy award winner and children's literacy advocate, will speak on "My American Journey."

Tickets for the event are $40. Send a check payable to ALAV with the names of the guests to Ricki Morettini, 1847 Foxswallow Circle, Pleasanton 94566, or call Ricki at 846-3922. Proceeds go to Assistance League's philanthropic projects in the Tri-Valley area, such as Operation School Bell and Screen Eyes Early. Scholarships still open at Amador

Amador Valley High School scholarship opportunities are still being accepted from organizations such as the Pleasanton Police Officer Association Scholarship, the Pleasanton Teachers Association Scholarship and Spiliotopoulos and Beratlis Memorial Scholarships. The Bay Area Air Quality Management District is looking for individuals committed to clean air. The Air District along with the American Lung Association, RIDES for Bay Area Commuters and the U.S. EPA are recognizing people committed to air quality who are making a difference at home, on the job or in the community.
