(February 06, 2004) Downtown Association kicks off year's activities
The Pleasanton Downtown Association knows how to draw people to Main Street - with desserts and wine.
The PDA kicks off its 2004 activities Thursday with "Truffles, Tidbits & Tastings, A Dessert and Wine Experience." Participating downtown merchants are opening their doors, and 20 local wineries are offering dessert wines, ports, sparkling wines and red wines. Stores will offer sweets and desserts to accompany the wines.
The event begins at 6 p.m. at the Rose Hotel, 800 Main St., where participants will pay $20, which includes a commemorative wine glass, a wine map and the tastings. Roses will be given to the women. It will be limited to 400 people but reservations are not necessary, and it ends at 9 p.m.
