Donna Mae Haas

Longtime Pleasanton resident Donna Mae Haas died in her home Nov. 28 surrounded by her family after a two-and-a-half-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 58. She was born in Seattle on Dec. 20, 1944, and moved to Pasadena as a youth, where she loved going to the beach with her parents. She graduated from Pasadena City College with an associate's degree in mechanical drafting.

In 1966, she married Roger Haas and spent nearly 30 years with him. A Pleasanton resident for 29 years, she enjoyed family trips to Lake Tahoe to fish or ski and the trips she and her husband took in their aircraft, especially the flights over the Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon. Her hobbies included quilting and she took quilt trips to Oregon, New England and Houston.

She leaves her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Lara of Woodland, Calif., and two grandchildren, Devin and Lindsay. A memorial service was held at Graham-Hitch Mortuary. Olga E. Sinsay de Sotomayor

Olga E. Sinsay de Sotomayor, a five-year Pleasanton resident, died Dec. 2. She was 77. Born in Santiago, Chile, on March 27, 1926, she was a homemaker. She loved her family and enjoyed music.

She is survived by two sons, Claudio Sotomayor of Walnut Creek and Francisco Sotomayor of Bradenton, Fla.; a brother and sister; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her husband of 52 years, Francisco Sotomayor, preceded her in death in 1999. Private funeral services were held. Margaret Gregory

Centenarian Margaret Gregory died Dec. 21 at Pleasanton Health Care. Born in Yerington, Nev., on Nov. 27, 1903, she lived in Albany for 77 years before making Pleasanton her home a year ago. She was a homemaker, great cook and wonderful mother.

She leaves a son, David Gregory of Pleasanton; a daughter, Mary Lou Gregory of San Leandro; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Gregory, who died in Albany in 1983. Private family services were held, and burial was at Sunset Mausoleum in Berkeley.
