Diane Kay Londagin

Diane Kay Londagin, a resident of Pleasanton for 28 years, died Feb. 12 at the age of 51 from complications due to colon cancer.

Londagin, along with her husband, founded and worked as administrator for the Quail Garden Care Home in Livermore. She had her own interior decorating business, Interiors Two, in Pleasanton for 23 years and used her decorating skills to make Quail Garden "an extra special place for seniors," said her daughter, Alicia Londagin of Pleasanton. "She was so caring, a very special lady."

Diane Londagin leaves her husband of 29 years, Bob Londagin, a retired firefighter; daughters Alicia, and Erika Londagin of San Diego; and sisters Carolyn Larsen and Marilyn Paulson, both of Pleasanton.

A graveside ceremony was held Feb. 16 at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette and was followed by a memorial service at the Pleasanton Presbyterian Church.

Barbara Jean Martin, an 11-year resident of Pleasanton, died Feb. 8 at the age of 72.

A homemaker, she enjoyed sailing, traveling and collecting dolls. She was also a member of the East Bay Fellowship in Danville, the Tri-Valley Woodcarvers, and the Tri-Valley Horseshoe Club.

She leaves her husband of 11 years, Gene Martin; son Richard Eugene House of San Bernardino; daughters Jerris Braese of Danville, Kandy Lynn McKnight of Sarasota, Fla., and Deborah Finnell-Willing of Leesville, S.C.; sisters Pat Mehaealian of Sanger, Calif., and Joan Freeland of Carmichael, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A visitation was held Feb. 19 at Graham-Hitch Mortuary, and the service was held the following day at the same location.

Burial is at Lone Tree Cemetery in Hayward. Earl D. Auger

Earl D. Auger, a resident of Pleasanton since 1991, died Feb. 8 at the age of 83.

A veteran of World War II, he served as a paratrooper and was disabled in combat. Among his many decorations, he was awarded the Bronze Star.

He was also a retired peace officer who served with the Alameda County Sheriff's Department and then served for 30 years with the University of California Police Department.

Before WWII, he played minor league baseball in Minnesota, and he was also an avid golfer. He was a member of Faith Chapel in Pleasanton and a VIP of Pleasanton.

He leaves his wife of 59 years, Kathryn Auger; son Ron Auger of Hiku, Maui, Hawaii; daughter Barbara Perry of Pleasanton; sister Lois Lutkin of Alameda; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A private burial was held at San Joaquin National Cemetery.

Anna Magdalen Matthies, a 12-year resident of Pleasanton and native of Germany, died from Parkinson's disease Feb. 14. She was 88.

She had worked at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Pleasanton. She enjoyed working with children, stitching and all things she could grow.

She leaves a daughter, Magdalen "Maggie" Scott of Pleasanton; sister Cechlin of Germany; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A daughter, Mary Ann Hinkle, and son-in-law, Roy Scott, preceded her in death.

A private graveside service was held at San Fernando Mission Cemetery in San Fernando, Calif.

George E. Dyer, a seven-year resident of Pleasanton, died Feb. 14 at the age of 59.

A native of Texas, he worked as an industrial maintenance mechanic for Injex Industries of Hayward. Dyer considered his co-workers to be like family.

He adored his family and was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Oakland Raiders, playing golf, and bowling.

He leaves his wife of 39 years, Barbara Dyer; daughter Eleanor and son-in-law Dan Quan of Livermore; daughter Sheryl Johnson and son-in-law Dan Carroll of Tracy; brothers Hallee Gee of Sweetwater, Texas, and Bill Dyer of Fairfield; and nine grandchildren.

At his request, no service was held.

Joanne Carol Bush, a resident of Pleasanton for 14 years, died Feb. 16 at the age of 49.

An employee with the Pleasanton Unified School District for 14 years, she worked as the principal secretary at Harvest Park Middle School and, more recently, with Pleasanton Adult Education.

She leaves daughters Stacie Fail of Pleasanton and Melissa Fail of Walnut Creek; and sisters Marianne Mayhew of Turlock and Nancy Gutierrez of Sacramento.

A memorial service was held Feb. 22 at Graham-Hitch Mortuary in Pleasanton. Elizabeth Hylbom Frazer

Elizabeth Hylbom Frazer, a 34-year resident of Pleasanton, died in her home Feb. 18 at the age of 65.

A native of Colorado Springs, Colo., she was a homemaker who enjoyed active sports and fiber arts of all types. She was also a member of St. Clare's Episcopal Church in Pleasanton, and a 15-year member of the Car Club of America.

She leaves a son, Ian Frazer of Livermore; daughter Sarah Frazer of Houston, Texas; sister Ingrid Hetfield of Millville, Del.; brother Martin Hylbom of Baltimore, Md.; and two grandchildren.

Her husband Donald Frazer who died Feb. 17, 1991, and her parents Tor and Elizabeth Hylbom preceded her in death.

A service was held Feb. 24 at St. Clare's Episcopal Church in Pleasanton. Inurnment is at Grace Cathedral Columbarium in San Francisco.
