PeopleSoft, Callidus Software form global alliance
(May 05, 2000) Callidus Software, the business performance systems company, has entered a global software alliance partnership with PeopleSoft, Inc., of Pleasanton, a leader in eBusiness application solutions. The partnership calls for Callidus' TrueComp unit to serve as a commission management system integrated with PeopleSoft Human Resources Management Systems and builds on the growing shared client base of the two companies.
"Deep functionality that complements PeopleSoft HRMS is valuable to PeopleSoft and to our customers," said Tom Shields, a PeopleSoft vice president. "We're delighted that Callidus Software is partnering with us to bring a well-integrated commissions processing solution to market."
PeopleSoft, with headquarters at 4440 Rosewood Dr., employs 7,000 people and had 1999 revenues of $1.4 billion.

Shaklee receives Earth Day 2000 award
(May 05, 2000) Earth Day New York has presented Shaklee Corp. with the Earth Day 2000 Environmental Business Leadership Award. The presentation took place during the opening ceremony of Earth Fair 2000 in New York City's Historic Battery Park.
The award was bestowed on the Pleasanton firm in recognition of its environmental achievements. The company recently became the nation's first Climate Neutral-certified company by offsetting the greenhouse gas emissions for its entire headquarters.
"Shaklee's Climate Neutral certification represents a groundbreaking development in the U.S. corporate community's response to tackling global climate change," said Charles L. Orr, Shaklee's president and CEO. "We are honored by Earth Day New York's recognition of our achievement."
Founded in 1956, Shaklee Corp. is a global, diversified, consumer products marketing company. A leader in nutrition, it has developed a skin care line with two patents that help to counter the damaging effects of ultraviolet radiation and free radicals.

PBW helps Ronald McDonald House
(May 05, 2000) Pacific Bell Wireless of Pleasanton has raised $125,000 to help fund development of the new Ronald McDonald House in Madera. The money was collected during a three-month promotion that gave away free PBW digital PCS phones with a new service subscription in exchange for a contribution to the charity. The donation was announced at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility.
