Seeing God move supernaturally in Brazil

Uploaded: Nov 14, 2019
This week I returned from Brazil and the third healing mission trip I’ve had the privilege of joining with Bill Dew from San Diego.

Bill and his late wife Carol were launched into their healing ministry in 2001 and he’s ministered in more than 30 countries around the world. He’s been to Brazil the most times and is particularly drawn there. What was particularly cool this time is to see Bill and his new bride, Kathleen, minister together. Their spouses died on Oct. 12, one year apart. They met in January, dated for five months and have been married for five months.

Over the course of six days, we ministered in seven churches, a hospital and a drug rehab ranch out in the country. The rehab center was particularly interesting—when the leader moved his program there, they had no electricity and no water. They used a donkey and cart to haul water six times a day. Now they have a well, a thriving cashew orchard plus a vegetable farm and tanks growing tilapia. More importantly, 73 percent of the guys who finish the program stay clean.

Over the course of six jam-packed days, we saw many, many immediate healings as the Holy Spirit flowed through the room and people. What I love about Bill’s ministry is how he empowers people. He would call out people suffering from pain in their arms, shoulders or wrists and then ask them to stand and touch the spot that hurt. He then asked people sitting near them to lay hands on the spot and pray for healing while he prayed from the platform. We consistently saw people after that simple process be 80 to 100 percent pain-free.

During the day we ministered in the public hospital, my partner, Amanda Hall from Wyoming, and I prayed for a man with kidney issues and cancer. The kidney issue was preventing treatment on the cancer. The doctors showed up doing rounds after we prayed for him so we moved on to the next ward. We circled back to pray with the sixth man and this guy waved at us. When the doctors had checked him, they discovered the kidney issues were gone—we’re praying that the cancer was too.

During individual ministry time after Bill’s teaching, team members prayed for people with the help of translators—my Portuguese is non-existent. We saw neck and back pain vanish; an injured wrist restored; and many other people restored.

If you are interested in learning more, please see Bill’s website: here.

Democracy.
What is it worth to you?

What an incredible experience for all, to God be the glory! My dad shared similar experiences with me while after serving Christ for inmates in the prisons. God bless your services, Tim. His blessings flow through us when we open our heart and availability to Him!

Jeeze Tim. I thought your blog would be about community issues so I did not expect a religious preaching. I don't think this is the appropriate venue for that type of topic but if that's the direction you wish to take, your blog should be (re)titled Tim's Religion".

It was not a preaching.
It was a documented experience.

Glad you had a documented experience. But your Jesus could be someone else Abraham, Buddha, et.al. Or the positive power of your brain. It's still a sermon

This is AMERICA - Land of Free Speech and Religion.

This is a blog where Tim voices his personal opinions and observations - and over the years it is very clear that Tim has some Religious ideas he Freely Speaks about.

David - do you hate Christians? Or just all religious people?

This is AMERICA - if you don't like these FREEDOMS, then either don't read the blog or go move to another country.

We don't need Thought Police people like you demanding that people don't exercise their rights and freedoms.

While you have the right to speak your mind, you don't have the right to persecute a person because you don't like what they have to say.

Hate Much?

BTW David -

If you actually read Tim's summary of what the Blog is (up above - click on "more), it's pretty clear he is a religious person and will ore than like talk about it from time to time.

Preaching? N O T! Grow Up! Tim has done so many good deeds...what have you done? NADA?

Can't believe that this stuff still gets posted here. Pseudo-preaching has no place on this site. This story isn't any different than the televangelists that exist solely to separate people from their money.

All I've got to say is that I hope that no one forgoes proper professional medical guidance and treatment for serious medical conditions in favor of the supernatural faith healing practices that Tim is promoting.

CANCEL CULTURE ALERT!

David does not like Tim sharing his religious experience with the rest of us! As proof, David said: “I don't think this is the appropriate venue for that type of topic..."

Wow! David does not think what Tim said is appropriate? Hey Dave, Tom is talking about his PERSONAL experience that happened to intertwine with his faith. Does Tom not have a right to share his religious experience; or are you attempting to dictate the terms of his ability to write an article void of religious content?

Whoops, substitute Tom for Tim in the appropriate places in the article above - my bad.

This is such an irresponsible post. Faith healing is a sham and can cost lives when patients are sucked in rather than seeking proper medical care.

I don't know if faith healing works, but I will help defend any persons religious rights with all my being.

If you don't believe, then shut up and live your life and let others live their life.

I counted up responses such as shut up, move to another country, you must hate Christians, etc and a bunch of other self-righteous bile. For a group of Christians who love the lord, you are sure are angry and the haters. Jesus does not accept this. I'm not judging Hunt's viewpoint. However I'm steadfast that a blog usually authored by him for local political and community issues is not the right venue to talk about religion which frankly is a personal matter. Talk about it in church or it's newsletters, amongst friends, but blogging in a local newspaper is not the path.

Try moving forward, Ed. That is the responsible approach. Prompt/professional medical care takes money...most of the time. Faith healing reveals itself to some and not others. No one knows why...? In our case, our family is grateful.

BTW, I hope you detractors would respectfully defend my right to an opinion about when or where it's OK to share your religious belief.

What is next. Dancing with snakes and talking in tongues? Just make sure you send your money to 1-800-Tim-Hunt so he can continue his mission and with luck gather enough to build that new church, buy a new car and suit, and indoctrinate (oops I mean ) spread the word to all those natives (oops I mean) sinners.
AMEN. Lmao.

Inside the workings of Dave's complex mind... Oh the horror!

So, Dave, people should defend your right to free speech while you attack another persons right to free speech? I get it. Makes perfect sense.

As for Ed... Well, like I once said: ignorance can be helped, but stupidity is sustained.

Yes, yes, yes, we get it Dave, you don't like "religious talk".

Do you have anything else to give us? I mean, what else don't you like so that we can follow your commands?

"I hope you detractors would respectfully defend my right to an opinion about when or where it's OK to share your religious belief."

And another one beclowns himself...LOL!

So now you want the right to express your own opinion, but just a few comments back you want to strip Tim's right to voice his religious beliefs?

Do I have that right, DAVE?

Dan

David -

The title of the blog is "Tim Talk".

Tim should be free to talk about whatever he wants, including religion.

Regarding the topic of religion being appropriate - last I looked around town, we have all sorts of "religion" related stuff all over the place - churches, Dewali lights on houses, etc.

Looks to me like religion is part of our "community".

With the Christmas (not Holiday) season coming up, are we all supposed to shut up about this holiday?

How about the recent Dewali celebrations - shut up as well?

Jewish Holidays - shut up?

Thanksgiving - Puritan based holiday - shut up?

Chinese New Year - shut up?

These are all part of our "community" and we should all, including Tim, be free to talk about them all we want, without your thought policing.

“ Tim should be free to talk about whatever he wants, including religion."

No problem with discussing religion. The problem here is that when Tim starts promoting faith healing he's wandering from pure religion and into promoting a questionable practice which directly clashes with modern medicine. We've all seen news stories in which children died due to an easily treatable medical condition because the parents refused to consider taking their child to a doctor but instead insisted on using “faith healing". Here's just one example:

- - - -
“2-Year-Old Girl Dies After Faith-Healing Parents Refuse Medical Treatment: Officials" - NBC Philadelphia

“Jonathan and Grace Foster attributed the Nov. 8 death of their daughter, Ella Grace Foster, to "God's will," according to a police affidavit."

“ A forensic pathologist told investigators Ella would have had a 95 percent chance of surviving if she had been given a routine course of antibiotics. But Jonathan Foster told police "it would be frowned upon and against their religion" to have taken Ella to a doctor, an affidavit said."
- - - -

I wouldn't mind it so much if Tim restricted his faith healing talk to claims of minor things like making a bruise heal faster or helping one recover from a cold more quickly. But when he suggests that faith healing alone - without any assistance at all from modern medicine - may be routinely effective against major organ problems and cancer, I think that he's treading on dangerous ground and that his promotion of faith healing is becoming irresponsible.

Anybody who using a blog on the Pleasanton Weekly Site to determine if they are going to use faith healing instead of proven medical practices / science, based on what Tim Hunt says is, quite frankly, an idiot.

There are many people who believe that the strength of a persons religious beliefs, or the power of positive thought, have a very positive affect on physical health or possibly healing.

I observed this with my own mother who went through 13 months of chemo for smoking induced cancer. She put up a great fight - I believe her positive attitude helped her in her fight. When the doctor told her she was terminal, she stopped the fight and was dead within 2 weeks.

I also had a much easier time with my total hip replacement - much more than others that had it done in the hospital ward at the same time - because I had a positive attitude.

Attitude and the way you mentally manage a bad situation can have a major impact on how well you recover or how you can limit the stress / negative impact.

Am I going to forget about my doctors because I believe this - no, that would be really stupid.

Do I think keeping a positive attitude will help my recovery when I am up against a difficult situation - yes I do.

And did I pray for may mother and for my own quick recovery? You bet.
