I am waiting for the first couple to file suit after being denied a marriage in a Catholic church. That is when the "S" will hit the Fan. They wouldn't have the stones to try it in a Muslim faith because they know what would happen there, but that's besides the point.

Odds are the justices won't be consistent when it hits the Supreme court and will find a way to carve out exemptions for the "right" churches.

What a mess they've made!

Oh, and let's not forget the polygamists either...!

In parallel, what I despise more than anything else in this discussion is a media which asks me to lie to myself and treat someone like Bruce Jenner as a woman.

I believe that Tina Fey as Sarah Palin said it best: "I believe marriage is meant to be a sacred institution between two unwilling teenagers."

There are lots of things we used to do and don't do anymore. That isn't necessarily bad.

Things are getting better, not worse.

I'd much rather be living now than in 1920 or 1950.

When I was growing up, certain people weren't allowed on golf courses.

People of mixed races weren't allowed to marry in some states.

Since then, science, technology, and medicine have all advanced tremendously. Quality of life is way. We understand so much more about life and our place in the Cosmos.

Kids growing up today are way better off than kids growing up in America today are much better off than those growing up 50 years ago, 100 years ago, or 200 years ago (especially non-white kids).

If Russell Wilson is hearing god, I think he might need more padding in his helmet.

Tim and Dan - you're not clever, witty or wise. You're just old coots, complaining that the young'uns fail to cleave to your prejudices and belief that everything was just perfect back in the 50's when you formed your view of "how things should be."

(Oh, and I think Ozzie and Harriet may have talked a better chastity-until-marriage game than they played. Of course, that kind of hypocrisy has taken a hit lately, too. I assume you mourn that as well.)

This is one of the most delightful bigoted rants I've heard since Archie Bunker. Your second sentence alone would be a Fox-worthy masterpiece if only you had worked in a reference to Benghazi!

However, I'm troubled that you're encouraging people to peruse photos of naked 12-year-olds. Is this something you've...uh, come across a lot, since it seems to be on your mind?

Does this quotation sound familiar? Can anyone recognize its source?
