Walking in the rain

Sisters Heather and Hanna Youn visiting from Washington State talked Pleasanton resident Amy Cho (right) into taking a stroll through downtown Pleasanton during a record-setting rainstorm Tuesday.

"We're used to this type of weather so why not go for a walk," said the sisters.

The three-quarters inch of rain set a record for June 28, but the cooler, wet weather was brief. Temperatures are expected to climb into the 90s for this Independence Day weekend.
