Genevieve Edna Barnard Gully

Genevieve Edna Barnard Gully died Oct. 25 at the age of 103. She is survived by her sister Ruth Newman, who is 109.

Genevieve Edna Barnard was born Sept. 9, 1907, in Healdsburg, and grew up there and in the Alexander Valley in Sonoma County with her three sisters and one brother. She married Arthur Clifton Gully in 1926 and they were married 54 years before he died in 1980 at the age of 75.

Mrs. Gully lived in Pleasanton for 30 years, where she was an active member of the VIPs seniors club and an original resident at Ridge View Commons. Before moving to Pleasanton, she lived 35 years in Fort Bragg, where she was active in the Garden Club and the Timber Toppers Square Dance Club. She loved flowers, driftwood, seashells, long walks on the beach, dining out, the San Francisco Giants, pink champagne, the color purple and her family.

In addition to her sister, Mrs. Gully is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Arthur Clifton Fully Jr. and Ellen P. Gully; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. At her request, there were no memorial services. Donations may be made to a charitable organization of choice.
