Frank I. Belecky

Frank I. Belecky, 78, passed away at his Pleasanton home on Oct. 23 at the age of 78.

He was born March 22, 1932, in Cheyenne, Wyo. He married Patricia Torres on June 22, 1952, in Cheyenne. They were married 52 years prior to her death in 2004, and he will be buried next to her in St. Augustine's Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Belecky served in the U.S. Air Force and the Wyoming Air National Guard, then attended the University of Wyoming. He transferred to Michigan State University and received a bachelor's degree in Administration of Justice. He was then hired by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and his first assignment was in St. Louis, Mo. His career also took him to management positions in offices in Honolulu, Oakland and finally San Francisco. He retired from ATF in 1986 and became a full time real estate agent in Pleasanton.

He is survived by sons Steven of Eastlake, Colo., and Michael of Pleasanton; daughter Cindy King of Tracy; mother Fern Belecky and and sister April Belecky Jones, both of Cheyenne; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at the Palm Pavilion at the Pleasanton Fairground at 2 p.m. Nov. 2. Donations may be made to www.scleroderma.org or to the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum , P.O. Mike and Family, your Dad was a wonderful person and we always enjoyed visiting with him on return visits to Pleasanton. The Good Lord will take care of him as he now joins your mom in everlasting peace.

Frank was a wonderful man. I got the chance to know him and work with him as co-worker at Hometown GMAC. He would often bring the ladies in the offices a rose and put in on our desks to brighten our day.

When Measure PP and the NO on D campaigns and elections were in full swing, he would stop by my office almost every day to learn the latest updates. I very proud to receive a donation to my campaign from Frank before he passed. Mike, thank you for all of the time you spent caring for him and shuttling your dad around town over the past few years. You are both very special people.
