Letters: Elect Laursen, Bowser
Dear Editor,
Pleasanton has an opportunity in November to elect to its school board Joan Laursen and Jeff Bowser, two highly qualified individuals who will ensure the best schools for our children.
Both Laursen and Bowser have lived in Pleasanton for many years and have proven track records of service to our schools. Laursen, who worked 12 years in the banking industry and understands governance and fiscal accountability, has devoted countless hours working with the state PTA and legislators to ensure valuable programs for our schools. Similarly, Bowser has worked 13 years in the private sector, has a master's degree in Educational Leadership, and currently serves as chairman of the Legislative Committee for the Pleasanton PTA Council.
Both Laursen and Bowser have extensive knowledge of public education and finance, both have backgrounds in business that have taught them to ask hard questions, and both will ensure that Pleasanton schools continue to be successful in these difficult economic times.
I encourage you to join me in voting for Joan Laursen and Jeff Bowser for the Pleasanton school board.
