District offers supplies for needy students
The Pleasanton Unified School District had a giveaway last week providing supplies for students in need.
It's the first time Pleasanton schools have done the giveaway, although Alameda County has had the program in place for years.
Separate bags were available for kindergartners and first-graders, second- through fifth-graders, and sixth- through 12th-graders.
District spokeswoman Myla Grasso said this week that 337 bags had been given, and the district is making arrangements to get bags to students who couldn't attend the giveaway.
