Gala too costly for 'the people'

Dear Editor,

I just saw Sandra Kay's letter in the Pleasanton Weekly (July 30) and am curious if her suggestion to lower the gala ticket prices is being considered? I know that there are many Pleasanton residents who are not in the "elite" club but would love to attend something so anticipated as the opening of the new arts center. I am aware of the free open house the next day, but really, that is not the same, is it?

Does the city have any plans to offer tickets at a reduced rate and open the event up to "the people"?
