Pricy pens purloined in Pleasanton

Bookmark and Share
High end pens, some valued at as much as $440, were reported stolen from a Stoneridge Mall store last weekend, according to Pleasanton police.

Twenty-nine Mont Blanc pens worth a total of $7,860 were taken from VIP Luggage between 10:45 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday. The pens were in a case that was normally kept locked, said Lt. Mark Senkle.

"When the theft was discovered, the case was closed but unlocked," Senkle said. He added that an employee said he showed pens to a customer around 10:30 a.m. Saturday but may have forgotten to re-lock the case.
