Bookmark and Share
Three experts in the local housing market will be featured speakers next Wednesday at a special town hall public meeting for prospective buyers and those who are considering selling their homes in Pleasanton..

The two-hour meeting, aimed at providing the public with objective, timely and accurate information about the residential real estate market here, will start at 7 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building, 301 Main St.

The event is being sponsored by the city of Pleasanton, the Pleasanton Weekly, the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce and the Bay East Association of Realtors.

Mayor Jennifer Hosterman will lead off the panel of speakers with remarks about the local housing situation, addressing some of the opportunities and challenges it presents for both buyers and sellers.

The speakers who are active in the real estate and financing professions here will be:

* Jacqueline Rickman, director of the Tri-Valley Housing Opportunity Center, a regional organization that develops housing and financial literacy programs for low-to-moderate income residents in the Tri-Valley;

* Carol Rodoni, president of Bamboo Consulting and a real estate industry expert and consultant who also writes several real estate columns for Bay Area newspapers;

* George Duarte, chairman of the Government Affairs committee of the East Bay chapter of the California Association of Mortgage Brokers, who also serves as an expert witness in court cases involving mortgages; and,

"The housing market is in a very fluid state right now and there is a lot of misinformation being passed to the consumer," Hosterman said. "This town hall meeting is an opportunity for residents to engage in conversation with real estate experts about the status of the local market."

The town hall meeting will be free to the public. For more information, contact the Bay East Association of Realtors at 730-4068.

Did anything interesting come out of this meeting? I haven't seen any story or follow-up afterwards.
