Mommy and me

Vote online for your favorite look-alike

Bookmark and Share
The bond between mothers and daughters is unlike any other. They share many personality traits, mannerisms and often an uncanny resemblance. In light of this, the Pleasanton Weekly decided to hold a mother-daughter look-alike contest to celebrate Mother's Day, coming up May 11.

Photos flooded the Weekly's email inboxes and staff had the difficult task of narrowing the lot down to 10 finalists. It is now up to the readers to choose their favorite by voting online at www.PleasantonWeekly.com by May 4. It's as easy as clicking the button below the photo.

Winners will be announced in the May 9 edition of the paper, with first prize being a $50 gift certificate to Faz Restaurant and second place being a $25 gift certificate to Stacey's Cafe.

Fathers and sons--it's your turn!

Fathers and sons aren't left out of the look-alike contest. They can join the competition just by sending photos to the Pleasanton Weekly and prove their doppelganger-like qualities.

Send digital photos to gallen@pleasantonweekly.com by 8 a.m. Monday, May 19. Photos can be black and white or color, must be in a JPG format, at least 300 dpi and no larger than 1 MB.

The staff at the Weekly will choose the finalists, and readers will be able to vote on which father and son in Pleasanton look most alike. Prizes will be awarded for the first- and second-place winners. Photos of the winners will be published in the June 13 edition of the Pleasanton Weekly.

It's easy and fun. Go to the story "Vote in our Mom-Daughter Lookalike Contest!!!" that is posted online, highlght the headline, and it should take you to the page of photos with a vote button under each one. Look over the finalists and then vote. Be sure of your choice before clicking the vote button, though. The opportunity goes away after you've cast your one vote. Happy Mother's Day. Jeb
