Town Hall meeting to look at local housing market
Panel of experts set to explain trends, answer questions
A town hall meeting aimed at providing the public with objective, timely and accurate information about the residential real estate market in Pleasanton will be held April 30 at the Veterans Memorial Building on Main Street.
The event is being sponsored by the city of Pleasanton, the Pleasanton Weekly, the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce and the Bay East Association of Realtors.
"The housing market is in a very fluid state right now and there is a lot of misinformation being passed to the consumer," said Pleasanton Mayor Jennifer Hosterman. "This town hall meeting is an opportunity for residents to engage in conversation with real estate experts about the status of the local market."
Hosterman will lead off a panel of speakers who are active in the real estate and financing professions. They will include:
* Carol Rodoni, president of Bamboo Consulting and a real estate industry expert and consultant who also writes several real estate columns for Bay Area newspapers;
* George Duarte, chairman of the Government Affairs committee of the East Bay chapter of the California Association of Mortgage Brokers, who also serves as an expert witness in court cases involving mortgages; and,
* Jacqueline Rickman, Director of the Tri-Valley Housing Opportunity Center, a regional organization that develops housing and financial literacy programs for low-to-moderate income residents in the Tri-Valley.
